Where are you originally from? And how long have you been in Portland?
I’m from Redondo Beach, California and have been in Portland for 14 years.
What is your favorite thing about Portland?
How long have you been working as a professional wedding caterer?
What led you to this career path?
My mother is a big inspiration. Growing all of our food in our backyard and feeding 7 kids big Greek meals. I’ve been in the restaurant industry since the age of 15 – it’s all I know. Farming came along 12 years ago for me and that connection with growing the food I’m preparing is what it’s all about. It’s the only way to cook.
How would you describe the importance of your role & why do you feel a couple should hire a professional caterer for their wedding day?
We give people the full “seed to plate” experience. We grow their menu on urban acres and create a seasonal menu just for them. We also are a full service catering company and handle full bar, set up, rentals, and we also have a beautiful intimate farm venue here in the city.
What is the best part of your job?
Having the opportunity to give people an amazing experience through food and farm.
Do you work solo or do you have a studio and/or team?
I have a team, but I handle the event meetings and coordination.
What do you attribute to your success as a wedding caterer? What do you think makes you stand apart from others in your field?
We grow our menus on our 1-acre urban farm here in the city. We make everything from scratch, are creative with our produce and always hear guests say, “This is beyond wedding food!”
At what point in the wedding planning process should clients hire you?
Doesn’t matter. We help them find all the missing pieces needed. We refer venues, floral and event planners.
Where do you draw inspiration? Are there any current trends you are excited about?
The farm! What I grow inspires me. I’m all about using every part of the plant, from leaves, buds, stems, seeds and flowers.
What is your best advice for wedding clients?
Start your planning process early!
Anything else you’d like couples to know about you?
We work with our clients every step of the way. The food and experience we offer is one of a kind.
