When planning our day we both wanted to focus on how we felt so lucky to have found each other, so we decided on the theme “lucky in love”. We chose a simple color palette of a light sage green with accents of copper and pale pink, and lots of pops of white as well.
I made the backdrop for our ceremony and I love how it came out in all the pictures…it was hours of hard work! We wrote our vows together because we wanted to decide together what we were promising to each other. We also wrote letters to each other to open on our 10th anniversary, which was really fun.
The reception went by so quickly, but we were both able to say hello to every guest and take in all the little details we had been planning for months. For favors, we gave each of our guests a scratch off ticket because we both love to play them together. Pennies were a part of the table decor so everyone used those to scratch off the tickets. A few people won quite a bit!
We decided to name the tables after street names in NW Portland (where I am from) and San Francisco (where Ryan is from). My aunt is an amazing artist and she recreated the top part of our invitations and added our initials. We used that piece of art throughout the entire evening. It was also our friend’s birthday so we had everyone sing and had a special cake made for him, which was super fun. Overall, it was just a magical evening that we got to spend with our closest friends and family and we were so sad to leave at the end of the night!
