It is not uncommon to be someone who may feel overwhelmed by the idea of wedding flowers and what it takes to pull off all the floral components of your wedding. For those of you that feel more nervous about your floral design and ideas, we hope to help settle your worries a bit.
There are options here. You may want each bridesmaid to have a bouquet, each groomsman to have a boutonnière, each close family member to wear a corsage or a boutonnière as well. If you have an extensive bridal party but don’t feel like going all out on the flowers, don’t be afraid to voice that. If you love the idea of your bridal party complete with bouquets or floral crowns, that’s great too. Bridal flowers are like veils, there are many different ways to pull it off, it’s important to know your own style. Novella Floral Theory Design and Swoon Floral Design are a couple of our innovative local florists.
Venue and decor
Depending on your venue, outside or inside, sometimes simple and accented floral is just what it needs. In a venue that provides more of a blank canvas, an artistic floral installation or more substantial floral presence brings it to life! Centerpieces can be as understated or as elaborate as you like. A couple of our favorite floral experts can guide you in designing just the right look for the ambiance you’d like to set. We’d love to recommend Vibrant Flowers and Flowers For You.
In the case that you have a separate ceremony site and reception area, remember that many pieces can be repurposed. For instance, the bridal party bouquets can fit in as great head or sweetheart table centerpieces. Likewise, the ceremony alter or other floral decor can be moved into the reception area.
Trusting the experts is probably one of the key things to do in this process of planning. Having a few basic ideas and the general direction you’d like to take with your floral element is great. The florists that you choose will be able to collaborate with you in designing exactly what will work best for your wedding.
